Discover how to Live OUT the Best of Who You Are.
Do you ever feel like,
- You’ve kept the best parts of you in the closet?
- You’re waiting for something and not sure what it is?
- That you’re stuck, bored, or blocked by your problems?
If any of those statements ring true, you’ve come to the right place. As you read articles on my blog and listen to queer thought leadership on the Living OUT Podcast you’ll discover my approach and strategies designed to Live OUT the Best of Who You Are.
I’m Darren Stehle (pronounced “steel”).
Being gay is not all that I
But as a gay man, I feel I have unique gifts and insights that my counterparts, straight men, do not possess. Most of my adult life has been an exploration of the unique and vital role LGBTQ people play in society.
For much of my life, I’ve struggled to different degrees with being a completely self-accepting gay man. We are conditioned as gay men to fit in, act normal, and be just like everyone else. That affects how we perceive the world and how we feel about ourselves. The problem with trying to fit in is that that we will have to lock away parts of who we are – our mannerisms, character traits, things we like to talk about, etc. Holding parts of yourself back is not living out the best of who you are.
My life experience, work history, and activism led me to create Living OUT Well-Being Coaching to help LGBTQ people create a more balanced, evolved, and humane world.
My background is as diverse as it is queer.
At a young age, I was diagnosed dyslexic and having ADHD. My learning challenges led me to pursue higher education – from Chef School to a Master’s in German Language and Linguistics.
For over 10 years I worked at a Canadian Gay & Lesbian print media non-profit, moving quickly into a top leadership position. I then ran a fitness coaching business for 15 years. Now I focus my energy on my Living OUT Leadership Coaching work, as well as podcasting and writing.
For the last 20 years, I have invested countless hours in independent study, worked with business and life coaches, and have become an expert in well-being, mindset, productivity, and personal growth.
My Life Purpose Informs How I work as a Coach:
Through my own self-exploration, I seek the deepest understanding of myself so that I may help others understand who they are and why they do what they do, to take complete personal responsibility for their actions and how their choices impact the lives of others.
I live in Toronto, Canada, with my partner, Christiaan.
